​The inaugural International Conference on Drones and Unmanned Systems (DAUS' 2025) focuses on the design, development and applications of drones, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), Unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV), Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). The event aims to serve as a forum for the dissemination and discussion of cutting-edge research, advancements, and innovations on this rapidly evolving field of a wide range of topics. The scope of the conference spans a diverse range of topics, in all fields of autonomous systems, algorithm, automate software, hardware and applications related to drones and autonomous systems. A key focus will be on the convergence of drones with artificial intelligence, exploring how AI can revolutionize unmanned systems in areas such as autonomy, decision-making, and data analysis.


The DAUS 2025 conference brings together academics, industry representatives, and domain specialists to share perspectives on this rapidly evolving field. This forum also aims to address the application of drones in various sectors, including industry, agriculture, military, and security, highlighting both current practices and future trends. The emerging fields of space drones, micro- and mini-drones, and the integration of unmanned systems in construction monitoring will be explored, identifying new opportunities for innovation and deployment. Discussions on the regulation, education, and training necessary to support the safe and effective deployment of these systems will also be a critical component.


By filling gaps in existing knowledge and fostering collaboration across disciplines, this conference aims to accelerate the advancement of drone technology and its integration into various applications, ultimately contributing to the development of more efficient, safe, and intelligent unmanned systems.

Special Session:
Drone Applications for Wildlife Ecology


Wildlife biologists are relying on an ever-increasing suite of tools to answer questions and solve problems related to wildlife ecology, management, and conservation. The use of unoccupied aerial vehicles (UAVs), or more commonly known as drones, has exploded in popularity in ecological studies in general, and in wildlife biology in particular. Drones have many advantages over traditional research techniques. They eliminate safety risks associated with fixed-wing and helicopter surveys, reduce cost and disturbance, increase accuracy, and allow the collection of high-resolution data over large or otherwise inaccessible areas. Some of the major areas of application of drones that have emerged in wildlife ecology include, but are not limited to:


  • Population surveys, including breeding colonies and non-breeding aggregations
  • Nest monitoring
  • Radio-tracking surveys
  • Acoustic surveys
  • Wildlife habitat research and monitoring
  • The use of different drone sensors (e.g., visible/RGB, thermal IR, multi- and hyperspectral)
  • Wildlife dispersal, either for nuisance or invasive species or to deter from hazards.


This special session provides highlights of the use of drones in wildlife ecology and a forum for discussion among both experts and potential users of drones that may result in future research collaborations between wildlife biologists in academic, government, and private sectors.
